A Game-Changer For Telugu Cinema – No Reviews For ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’ Allowed
Tollywood is about to witness a truly historic moment – or so it seems. There’s been a big stir in the industry on the day of the release of “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu”, the long-awaited film featuring the super popular actor Chiranjeevi. And to make matters even more interesting, a court has passed a ruling that’s sending shockwaves throughout the industry.
The Court Ruling That’s Causing Upset
For the first time anywhere in Telugu cinema, the producers of a big film have got a court order to put a stop to people leaving reviews on the popular ticket booking site BookMyShow. The reason behind this decision is to shield the film from the sort of organized online hate campaigns and digital sabotage that have been seen quite a bit of in the past.
Why Has This Been Done?
In recent years, big films like Bots and Fake Accounts: using automated accounts to artificially lower film ratings, (and) Fandom Wars: where groups of people orchestrate a campaign of hatred against their rivals, and even Digital sabotage: by people posting negative reviews who havent even bought a ticket, have all fallen victim to a phenomenon called “review bombing”
What’s The Film About & When Is It Releasing?
The film, directed by Anil Ravipudi, is due for release on January 12, 2026 (during the Sankranti holiday). Its an action comedy, with Chiranjeevi playing a former NIA agent – he’s supported by Nayanthara and has a special appearance by Venkatesh Daggubati.
A New Precedent For The Industry?
This bold move is seen as a way to protect a film from the toxic negativity that can spread like wildfire over the internet on the eve of its release. If this strategy works, we can very well expect other major film producers to follow suit, and it’s likely to change the way audiences interact with films before and after they are released.
